"You were thinking. It's annoying."
All done in Photoshop. Started it last night, just spent tonight tweaking it.
I told myself not to be such a geek.
I failed.

Annoying someone powerful must always bode well for you...right?
Also I haven't abandoned the next animation I was going to do but I felt like the idea needed refining first. :P
Ok so I sort of lied a bit, I said I would post screenshots or something before with my work in progress. However I got focused with making the animation that I just ended up finishing it!
Hope you guys like it!

Currently working on an animation in Flash, but also been really busy with day job work so things have been a little quiet around here recently. I will post some screenshots and related stuff in the near future!
In the meantime if anyone knows Junior Animator jobs or similar (entry level) about, do let me know!
Here's a new one to start 2012 off, I bought the Tin Tin Collection box set after Christmas as a treat to myself. As I've been saying this is truly 'childhood in a box'. The intro and music feels just as great as it used to. I have yet to watch the new CG movie that's out.

I finished this piece last week but only had the time to upload it today!
As you can see I've been a bit obsessed with Skyward Sword recently.

I have a range of images for you guys for todays update. Firstly I did some sketches in Hong Kong when I went to a local island, 3 pages worth of sketches that I've put together into one. I loved the different shapes and sizes of the boats there. (Check out my illustration gallery for a bigger size)

Then here's something I started in Google Sketchup which I've been growing to love recently, and finished in Photoshop.

And finally some sketches I did whilst on a train journey, and I just slapped a bit of tone on in Photoshop later when I got back.

Originally I wasn't going to finish this and I was going to leave it at a sketch, but a lot of people asked me to finish it so there you go! Coloured!

A piece I did to celebrate DeviantART's 11th birthday, if you're a member of DeviantART check out the various events we got going on there!

I repeat this is not a drill!
Just a random idea I had a little while back which I finally gotten around to, having a bit of fun really!

So I've survived July and I should be back in the swing of things now with artwork. So here's a little exercise I did tonight just to get warmed up again.
Once again titles stump me.

So I've been doing some sketches and stuff recently but nothing worth uploading yet. In the meantime I've been busy busy busy as I've had to work the day job as usual + weekends so artwork is slow this month unfortunately.
However I'm taking the day off tomorrow as it's my sisters graduation. And because of work and all that I haven't really had the chance to go out and buy a graduation gift or anything.
So instead I've made this for her just tonight, the graduation owl is holding a graduation scroll but it's a message to my sister that I've hand written. It has been a while since I've done any papercraft, plus please excuse the photo quality. I had to use my phones camera because I'm charging my 'real camera' for tomorrow. Unlike a certain sister of mine who went to my graduation back then without charging her camera...

I've just been playing around with matte painting techniques with this piece, I haven't really done it before so whilst I don't think it's spectacular, it was academic but quite a beneficial experiment!
I've been doing my sisters website on the side so I've been busier than usual recently, which is why artwork has been a bit slow. She is just graduating from her Illustration and Animation course, her work is very good so please check out her website! http://www.kyancheng.com/.
Colossus of Air

The Pilgrimage

Right not feeling too well at the moment, but I'm getting better. Managed to finish this though, Demon Hunter for cghub.com.
Got another piece I need to work on and also a website to build.

Been quite busy recently, working on various things so here's a quick one from me. Will be working on some character designs soon so more to come later.

I have to admit I had no idea what I was doing with this or where I was going with it. I started this one night recently based on a nice stock photo. Then all the way through I thought what if I did this, and this and this. And I just ended up thinking maybe I'll make it 'Snow Queen'ish' (whatever the hell that means) and I just ended up with this at the end.
Hence the lame title, huzzah.

CGhub.com has got a Legend of Zelda character contest going on for it's 25th anniversary. I decided Twinrova would be quite an interesting one to do. She is made up of two bosses after all technically and the contrast in colours I thought would be exciting to work with.

This is a piece for the Character Book project I mentioned in my last entry. Just a quick piece and it is one character out of a possible 50 to choose from. More to come later!
